First team All-American, named College Baseball’s “Dream Team” short stop, and nominated for Golden Spike Award in 1990; Third team all-american in 1989; Two-time first team All-Big Ten short stop in 1989, 90; member of Big Ten Championship team in 1990 and team USA in 1989, 90; led team USA with .486 batting average to silver medal at World Games in 1989; selected in first round of Major League draft as eighth overall pick in 1990; and played on Cincinnati Reds major league team in 1992, 93.
