Coached world champion tumbling and trampoline teams at 1965 London World Championships, five NCAA individual champions, thirty NCAA individual all-Americans, thirty-six Big Ten Conference individual champions, seventeen Iowa teams to NCAA placement (third in 1963 and fourth in 1957, 58, 72), two Big Ten Conference team championships in 1972, 74, six runner-up team finishes in 1958, 62, 64, 65, 71, 73, and four undefeated teams in 1958, 60, 64, 72; overall dual meet record of 179-87-2 and conference record of 98-57; won National Association of College Gymnastics Coaches Honor Coach Award in 1979; and member of National Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 1983.
