Ladies Professional Golf Association Coach of the Year, 1985; National Golf Coaches Association Coach of the Year, 1990; Big Ten Conference Coach of the Year, 1990, 91; Led Iowa to eight National Golf Championship appearances and Big Ten Conference Championship, 1991; Coached seven All-Big Ten golfers, NCGA All-American, 1990, Big Ten Conference Player of the Year, 1991, Freshman of the Year, 1991, and Big Ten Championships Medalist, 1998; united states national golf team coach (1986-2013) – winning eight world university golf championships; and national golf coaches association president (1988-92) and Hall of Fame Inductee, 1995.
