Three time second team NCAA All-American in 1957, 58, 59; NCAA semi-finalist in singles in 1957, 58 and quarter-finalist in 1959; Big Ten Conference Champion in singles and doubles in 1958 and runer-up in singles in 1957; member of Big Ten Conference Championship Team (number one player) in 1958 and team captain in 1958, 59; United States indoor junior doubles champion in 1955; and ranked number one in United States junior singles and doubles in 1956.
