Please review the following policies and procedures when planning and event at the Hall of Fame.
Balloon Policy
Due to recent changes in policy, we will no longer be permitting the use of helium balloons inside the museum. To ensure safety in case of a fire, there is a fire beam that runs inside the top of the building. The fire department is no longer allowing us to turn the fire beam on and off at a minimal cost.
If your event needs the presence of helium balloons, the substantial cost of turning off the fire beam will be covered in full by your party. We will need to know two weeks in advance if you would like this applied to your event. Please note, the use of air filled balloons are allowed.
Alcohol Policy
Alcohol is allowed during events where food is served. All alcohol must be provided and served by Iowa Memorial Union Catering.
When serving alcohol you will need to provide a Certificate of lnsurance for no less than $1,000,000 in Commercial General Liability insurance naming the State of Iowa; Board of Regents, State of Iowa; and the University of Iowa as additional insured, retaining severability of insured.
