NCAA All-American in 600 yard run, 1962; six-time big ten champion — Indoor Champion – 600 yards, 1962, 880 Yards, 1963, Outdoor Champion – 880 yards and Mile Relay, 1962, 1963; Member of Big Ten Cross Country Championship Team, 1961, and Indoor and Outdoor Track Championship teams, 1963; set Iowa’s Indoor and Outdoor 800 meters school records; and Team Captain, 1965.
