Two time consensus first team All-American linebacker and academic All-American in 1984, 85; second team All-American in 1983; freshman first team All-American in 1982; three time first team All-Big Ten linebacker and academic All-Big Ten in 1983, 84,85; runner-up Butkus Linebacker of the Year Award in 1985; Lombardi Award finalist in 1985; Iowa all-time leading tackler with 492 stops, 308 solos and 184 assists and led team in tackles all four years; Co-Captain in 1985; and named to Iowa’s All-Century Team-Defense (Linebacker) in 1989.
