Arch Ward Award winner (Outstanding College Sports Information Director) in 1968; covered 262 consecutive football games from 1939-67; as an athlete, member of Olympic track team at 1924 Paris Games; world record holder of 200 and 400 meter dash in 1924; NCAA and Big Ten champion in 220 yard dash in 1921, 23; captain of track team in 1923; and member of College Sports Information Director’s Hall of Fame and Helms Foundation Hall of Fame.
